Supporting Women’s Health and Empowerment

The Maasai Dream Foundation is empowering Maasai women in rural Tanzania by providing 500 high-quality, reusable sanitary pads alongside comprehensive menstrual health education. This initiative goes beyond hygiene—it promotes dignity, keeps girls in school, and offers a sustainable solution to the menstrual health challenges faced by our communities.

Breaking Barriers with Sustainable Solutions

In rural areas, limited access to sanitary products forces women and girls to navigate harsh realities: social isolation, severe health risks from unsafe alternatives, and missed school days.

Our solution is simple and sustainable: washable, durable, and eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads. Unlike disposable products that create waste and require constant repurchasing, these pads provide long-term support. By distributing them alongside expert education, we equip women with the lifelong knowledge to manage their health safely and confidently.

Our 3-Step Action Plan

Delivering sustainable change requires a clear and transparent approach. Here is exactly how we turn support into direct, on-the-ground action for the women who need it most

Local Production

We partner with local vendors and skilled Tanzanian tailors to craft 500 reusable pads in various sizes, keeping the economic benefits within the community

Direct Delivery

Finished sanitary products are transported safely from Arusha directly into the hands of the women in rural Maasai communities.

Comprehensive Training

A certified instructor leads a dedicated workshop teaching proper pad usage, washing techniques, and broader menstrual health education.

Lasting Impact & Community Collaboration

This project thrives on a network of local contributors, including vendors, tailors, health instructors, transporters, and filmmakers documenting the journey.

Looking forward, the Maasai Dream Foundation aims to train local Maasai women to become pad makers themselves. This visionary approach will empower women to launch small businesses, ensuring permanent, independent access to menstrual hygiene products for generations to come.
